May Update, AKA We Ain’t Dead Yet

We’re pretty psyched at the moment. Why? Well, we’re going to try something a little different by working with what we’ve got, to see what comes out of this crappy situation we find currently ourselves in.

We’re still looking for a drummer. However, things could get interesting working within the parameters we find ourselves in! I guess we’ll know one way or another on Sunday.

We just posted the ad (above) in the Creative Loafing musicians classified. It speaks for itself. Interested in playing drums? Check it out here, or email us directly at: deadsoundfl@gmail.com

Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes…

It’s with great sadness that we announce the departure of Brad from Dead Sound. The last eight months were a blast, and we wish nothing but the best to Brad, in all that he does, in the future.

We’re currently weighing our options, attempting (as it were) to figure out where to go from here. We’ll be putting our Kickstarter project on hold; hopefully we’ll be able to start it up again soon.

That said, the search for a new drummer starts now. We’re definitely seeking interested parties that are the right fit. Check out our Craigslist ad, it is direct and to the point in what we’re looking for. Fit the bill? Get in touch.

A May 19th Kickstarter Benefit Show…Of Sorts

Come out and help us continue to raise money for our Kickstarter project!

Our Kickstarter site has launched!

Click the flier to be redirected to our project page!

April 14th show information

We’ll be playing a show on April 14th with our good pals Awkward Age and Dave Decker at the Emerald. Yeah yeah yeah…another show, big whoop. Well people, it’s kind of a big deal. Why? Well, that show signifies the start of our second attempt to raise money, via Kickstarter, to record and release our own slab o’ wax. It will be a Kickstarter project kickoff (ugh…) celebration of sorts. Go on ahead, and check out a mock up of our project page. We’ll put up the actual project page when it launches.

We’ll also have more information on our project at the show. Here’s to hope that we can raise enough money to record, master and release some tunes! Check out the flier for show information.

Well well well, we might actually have new songs ready to play at our show Friday!

Show Added

With the March 30th show on the near horizon, we’ve started booking more future shows. This time we’ll be playing, arguably, St. Pete’s holiest of the holy dive bars, the venerable Emerald. We don’t have many details nailed down yet, but check back frequently for more information as it becomes available.

…Now, with an embedded Souncloud player!

The un-internet-savy man-child that is Anthony, just figured out how to integrate our Soundcloud account into our Tumblr page. Mosey on to the right of this page and hit the “play” button…I dare you!

An update of sorts, with links for finks

The high of tonight’s fun is, unfortunately, starting to wear off. We had a blast, and would love to do that (or something like it) again…hint hint. You hear me, Mr. Saint Hill?!

I think we’ll eventually be able to upload our live session onto our Bandcamp and Soundcloud pages. Until then, the good people at Grand National Championships have our session available for all things streaming, embedding, and downloading (for free, no less) over at their Bandcamp page. Click here, or click ye olde album cover to be linked directly to the session.

I know, you’re a busy sort, and perhaps you missed the whole show. And now you’re panicking because you’d really like to hear how incredibly handsome our voices are. Or, maybe we said something witty that you’d like to share around your water cooler tomorrow morning. I’d imagine that Alastair and Co. would be uploading a podcast of tonight’s show sooner or later. “But” you say, “I can’t wait that long!” Well buckaroo, you’re in luck. All you have to do is mosey on over to WMNF’s show archive page (conveniently located here for, well…convenience) and download the show in it’s glorious entirety.

What’s next? We’ll be grinding out a few new songs between now and our March 30th show. And as I just mentioned above, we’ll be playing a show on Friday, March 30th. See our shows tab for more information on that. Wait though, we’re also playing a show on April 14th at the Emerald. We’ll have more information regarding that show soon and very soon.

It’s getting late, and without the capability of taking a full breath because of allergy related asthma, I’m super tired. I just wanted to, first and foremost, take a moment to thank the amazing people (Brad and Morgan) that I am incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to play music with. Y’all, in short, are awesome and amazingly talented people! I’d also like to thank all of the people that have come out to our shows, streamed our music, listened to us on the radio, etc. We really appreciate all of the support that you’ve offered us over the course of the last few months. Nap time.
